Pub
Killer
Born as a sound laboratory, it became an exceptionally versatile tube machine: super clean tones, three levels of distortion and two power settings in a single head.

The fourth RL design
Two personalities.
Three gain levels.
The Pub Killer brings together two channels with profoundly different characters: the super clean transplanted from the Hot Glass and a three-level drive channel inspired by the SLO 100.
The clean channel retains openness, dynamics and definition. Fat/Thin and Bright switches reshape its basic voice to suit the instrument and the situation. On the drive channel, two switches select three gain levels, ranging from restrained saturation to super high-gain sounds.
The two channels are genuinely independent, with dedicated controls and separate tone sections. Volume, Gain and Master take the amplifier from commanding cleans to tight, aggressive distortion without sacrificing clarity.

Power architecture
Voltage becomes
part of the sound.
The power transformer provides two plate-voltage options for the output stage. Selection is made through the standby control, switching the head between 30 and 60 watts.
The power supply departs from the conventional architecture of many commercial heads: one secondary winding is dedicated to the power-stage plate supply, while a second winding independently feeds the preamp plate supply.
A further rear-panel control varies the preamp plate voltage. This changes the response of the gain stages, adding another level of experimentation with dynamics, compression and saturation character.
A Hi‑Fi-derived output transformer completes an architecture deliberately far removed from mass-produced amplifier conventions. Presence and Dump/Resonance refine the output-stage response, while the effects loop makes the Pub Killer ready for complex rigs.
